To customize the template, you can simply type over any existing text. You can also copy a recipe from another document (or online), then select the text in the template and paste your text over it.
To keep the original formatting when pasting text, please use one of these methods:
Paste and Match Style
When pasting your new text, use the Edit > Paste and Match Style option under the Edit menu.
Styles
You can also use paragraph styles after you paste your text to fix any formatting issues. You can use pre-defined styles for text, titles and subtitles.
To apply a style, simply select the text you want to format, and then click the style you want from the Styles gallery. In the Format sidebar, select the Text tab and choose a pre-defined style from the drop-down menu.
Click to select the image you want to replace.
In the Format sidebar, click the Image tab.
Click Replace, then choose a new image.
OR
Click to select the image you want to replace.
Right-click on the image and select Replace Image.
To adjust or crop an image:
Double-click the image, the mask controls appear.
Use the controls to frame just the parts of the image you want to be visible.
Click Done.
To add a blank page:
To add a page, click on View (top left corner) and select Page Thumbnails to see all your pages on the left side panel. To add a new page, click on the Add Page plus (+) sign on the top left navigation bar.
Choose a template page. Once you click on it, the template will be added to your document.
To duplicate a page:
To duplicate a page, select the page thumbnail (left sidebar) of the page you want to duplicate, then choose Edit > Duplicate Selection (from the Edit menu at the top of your screen) or
Right-click on your mouse, then select Duplicate. The duplicate page is added below the original.
To move a page:
Select the page thumbnail of the page you’d like to rearrange, then drag it to where you want it in your document (inside the left side panel).
You can turn text or certain objects into a link that jumps to another page. This is very handy especially when you are viewing your template on an iPad or phone and want to quickly navigate between the sections of your document.
Control-click on the section box (on the TOC page), choose Add Link, then choose a destination - Page.
Click the Page pop-up menu and choose the page you want to link to.
Tip: Once printed, use plastic binder sleeves to protect your pages from water damage.
When printing your document, please make sure to select Actual Size under Page Sizing. Select document size as 8.5x11 or A4 depending which template you are using. You can choose to print your pages double-sided or single-sided.
Printing Half Letter (5.5x8.5)
To print 2 pages on one sheet of US Letter size: Under Page Sizing, click on Multiple and select Custom 2 by 1 for Pages per sheet. Orientation - Landscape. If you’d like to print only some pages (not the whole document) select the page range under Pages.
